Dive into my Story

Photo of Mark Gamblin and his dog Scott, who is pulling a funny face

Hi — I’m Mark, a pet photographer based in Dumfries & Galloway, serving dog and pet lovers across the Scottish Borders.

I create natural, relaxed photographs that capture the true personality of your furry family members. The silly moments, the soulful looks, the wagging tails — those are the memories I believe are worth holding onto forever.

How It All Began

My love for animals has always been a huge part of my life, and photography became a way to combine that passion with storytelling. Pets are never “just pets” — they’re family, best friends, and constant companions. I started 4Ever Paw Prints Pet Photography because I wanted to help people preserve those precious moments that often pass far too quickly.

Whether it’s a playful puppy, a dignified senior dog, or a nervous rescue finding their confidence, every animal has a story — and I absolutely love capturing it.

What It’s Like Working With Me

I keep sessions calm, fun, and pressure-free — for both you and your pet. There’s no need for perfect behaviour or stiff posing. I work at your pet’s pace, with plenty of patience, praise, and the occasional treat!

I specialise in:

  • Natural, outdoor photography
  • Capturing real personality (not forced poses)
  • Working with shy, excitable, or older pets
  • Creating images you’ll be proud to display in your home

Your pet doesn’t need to be “well trained” — they just need to be themselves.

Why Choose 4Ever Paw Prints Pet Photography?

✔ Beautiful images designed to last a lifetime

I know how important it is to trust the person photographing your pet, and I treat every session as if it were my own animal in front of the camera.

More Than Just Photos

My goal isn’t just to give you lovely images — it’s to create meaningful memories. The kind you’ll look back on years from now and feel that same warmth, love, and connection all over again.

Because time with our pets is never long enough… but photographs help those moments live on 💛

FAQs – Your Questions Answered 🐾

What if my dog won’t sit still or behave?

That’s completely fine — and very normal!

Dogs don’t need to be perfectly trained to have a great photo session. I work with your dog just as they are, whether that means lots of zoomies, sniffing everything in sight, or taking things slowly. Some of the best photos come from those natural, in-between moments.

My dog is nervous or shy — is that okay?

Absolutely. I have plenty of patience and always work at your dog’s pace. There’s no rushing and no pressure. Shy or anxious dogs are very welcome, and sessions are kept calm and relaxed to help them feel comfortable and safe.

Where do photo sessions take place?

Sessions usually take place outdoors at a location that suits your dog — this could be woodland, countryside, a beach, or another favourite spot. If you’re not sure where would work best, I’m always happy to suggest locations around Dumfries & Galloway and the Scottish Borders.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We live in Scotland — so flexibility is key!

If the weather really isn’t suitable, we can simply rearrange your session. Light cloud is actually great for photography, so a little overcast won’t stop us, but your dog’s comfort and safety always come first.

How long does a session last?

Sessions are relaxed and usually last around 45–60 minutes, depending on your dog and their energy levels. There’s no strict clock-watching — we take breaks when needed and keep things enjoyable for everyone.

Can I be in the photos too?

Of course! If you’d like to be included, you’re very welcome. Some people prefer just their dog, others love having a few photos together — it’s completely up to you.

What happens after the session?

After your session, I carefully select and edit the best images. You’ll then receive access to a private online gallery where you can view your photos and choose your favourites. From there, you’ll be able to select digital images and beautiful products to treasure forever.

How do I book?

Booking is easy — just get in touch via the contact form. We’ll have a friendly chat about your dog, choose a location, and arrange a date that works for you. No stress, no pressure.
