If you're thinking about booking a dog photoshoot for you and your pet, or as a gift for a friend or loved one.
You're probably wondering
how does it work?
What's included?
What if my dog won't sit still?
Or where do the photoshoots take place?
I'm going to go through the whole process below. So you can be fully confident in knowing what to expect before, during and after your dog photoshoot. Making sure you go home with images that give you memories of your pet that last a lifetime.
Initial contact with me
When you first contact me to book you dog photoshoot, the first thing we'll do is discuss your dog.
I'll send you an email with a short questionnaire about your dog. This is to find out about their personality, what your dog likes and dislikes, and what type of outdoor location your dog feels safe and most enjoys walking in.
The choice of location can play a vital role in getting the best out of the photoshoot. If your dog feels relaxed and able to be themselves, then their personality will shine through on camera.
Which makes for some special photos that last forever.
If you have any other questions or requirements, then this is the time to discuss them.
I want you to go into the photoshoot feeling as comfortable as possible, so both you and your dog can have a fun, relaxed experience.
Location choice
You may already have a location in mind for you dogs photoshoot.
This could be their favorite park local park, woodland walk, or even your own back garden.
If you don't already have a location in mind, we can discuss this during booking and decide on a location that suits you and your dog.
The area I cover is within a 40 mile radius of Eskdalemuir, Scotland.
This covers most of Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders.

The day of your photoshoot
On the day of the photoshoot, there’s no pressure for perfect behavior.
Dogs can be dogs. I work at their pace, taking breaks when needed and using positive reinforcement (and the occasional treat!) to keep things fun.
Whether your pup is full of energy or more on the shy side, my sessions are designed to be relaxed, flexible, and all about capturing their true personality.
So don't worry if your dog won't sit still, sometimes the action shots are the best.
Expect plenty of patience, play, and genuine moments—those are where the best images come from.
Pet photography sessions and packages
What happens after your dogs photoshoot
Once your dog photography session wraps up, the experience isn’t over yet—this is where your images truly come to life.
I carefully go through every image captured, selecting the very best moments that showcase your dog’s personality, expressions, and unique quirks.
Each chosen image is then professionally edited with attention to detail, ensuring natural colours, beautiful tones, and a timeless finish.
When your images are ready, you’ll be invited to view them in an online gallery and choose your favourites.
This is your chance to decide how you’d like to enjoy them—whether that’s as digital keepsakes, wall art for your home, or something truly special to celebrate your dog.
Most of my lovely customers choose one of my special packages, such as the Best Friend package or the Forever package. Both include credit towards wall art and up to 20 high resolution digital files.
The final result? Natural, emotive photographs you’ll treasure for years to come.
